2016 IS A WRAP!
Okay I know 2016 is now 5 days over, but hey, this is my blog and I do what I want! (Yea I sound like a child lol).
2016 was an interesting year for many, myself included. I learned, I lost, I gained, I hurt. The most important thing is I'M ALIVE! Too many times we focus on what didn't happen and dwell on that letting it kill our entire mood and sending us into a downward spiral. We set goals (some totally unrealistic) without thinking "what if I don't reach that goal yet?" At this age I was supposed to be married, running a business full-time, with at least one child. So far I haven't achieved any of that! lol But what about the things I did achieve?
In 2016 I:
Made my first "big girl" purchase and bought a car!
After months and months of looking, started a new job!!
Took part in my first photography meet up with BROWN GIRL WITH A CAMERA!
Took pictures for an awesome family not once, but twice! Not sure if they know how much I APPRECIATE them for that!!!
My best friend/sister/cousin moved to Texas! (she's located near Dallas and does make-up! *hint hint*) We took some pics and she as they like to say SLAYED lol
I FINALLY started to take my health serious and invested in a bootcamp! Check out Camp Gladiator if you're looking for something to get into. I don't always feel like going, but I ALWAYS feel better after I go (even if I can't walk for a few days.)
I was able to take my handsome nephews senior pictures!
I made a new TOTALLY AWESOME friend that has a love for photography as much as I do! She also runs a campaign called Know Your Beautiful. I highly recommend checking her out, she is the real deal! http://www.photosbyljk.com/
My oldest nephew got married and I was able to take some pictures for he and his wife!
I'm learning to love myself for who I am. I can't be anyone but me and I now know how important it is to be the best YOU, you can be! God didn't make any mistakes when He created me and it's time that I focus on that instead of being so negative.
So you see, 2016 may not have gone the way I "planned" it, but that doesn't mean it didn't go well. All we can do is make the most of life. I know all too well how easy it is to fall in a depression and feel like the world is completely against you, but I also know there is always one person that will be there to pick you up and push you through.
Here's to an amazing 2017!!!
